Beautiful Female Rottie in Georgia needs help!!!

Teddie - #27488
(When calling about a dog, refer to the dog by its ledger number, not its name!!)
Age: 3 Years
Rottweiler
Female
Ledger number: 27488
Teddie is available only to rescue groups because she is very emaciated and depressed and has shown no interest in eating, even in the yummy canned food the officers have given her. Even though she weighs 70 pounds, you can feel all of her bones (even those in her skull) when you run your hands over her body, so she should be at least 80 pounds at a healthy weight. Even in her current condition, it is evident that she is a very beautiful Rottie. She has a sweet temperament and will lean into you when you pet her. Animal Control has decided to only make her available to rescue groups so that she is healthy and stable before she goes to her permanent home.
Rescues, we really need your help with this girl!

Update: Animal Control is worried about Teddie not eating the canned and dry food they have for her, especially since she is so emaciated. Today I stopped by to visit with her, and she gobbled up 3 cans of Merrick (a dog food brand) "Smothered Comfort" flavor of canned dog food.
If you or someone you know would like to donate some cans of this specific canned food (found at Pet Supplies Plus, Mary's Tack and Feed or online at http://www. merrickpetcare. com) Teddie and Animal Control would be very grateful! While I was there, after she ate her 3 cans of food, she was all about getting petted! When I stopped, she would ever so gently nudge her head under my hand for more- SO SWEET! Teddie also spent some time with a kind man and his wife, and she gave the kind man a kiss.
Teddie is a super sweet Rottie who needs our help- thanks in advance Athens! :)

*Rescue groups only! The athenspets. net fund will donate $50 to the rescue group who saves her! Just contact Allyson at athenspets@athenspets.net!*

Phila, PA: URGENT!!! 3 Yr Old Female Chocolate lab needs new home!

Family going through very bad time....need to find her a home!

Contact mvmarchese@verizon.net

Hi - I thought I would start with you guys to get some ideas. A friend of mine is going through a very bad time and has to give up her dog Bonnie, a chocolate lab who is three years old. Photos are below.

If you know of anyone who would like to have a dog like this let me know. Or if you know a rescue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Marian

Bonnie was 3 on May 10, 2008. She's spayed and current on all her shots.

She does tend to pull on her leash when we walk... we did the first puppy course at Pet Smart when she was about six months old. She follows me around like my shadow.

Ivy is incredibly lucky to be alive right now. Believe it or not, Ivy was run over by a car. She crawled up on a woman's doorstep and just wagged her tail. She had apparently suffered all night long before she was able to make it to the vet.

This sweetie has been through so much.

It turns out that Ivy broke BOTH rear legs (4 bones total). Ivy was transferred to another animal hospital where she underwent surgery to repair both legs. Everyone that meets her is absolutely amazed with how sweet she is, despite being in so much pain.

Ivy has now been through THREE surgeries to repair her legs at the cost of $2300.00. We need your help to pay her bill.

Ivy is just one of many special medical need pups that we have put back together. Our vet bills currently exceed $10,000.00 and as a city shelter, we just do not have the funds to keep on going like this.

Although we are a municipal shelter, we try to save every dog that comes through our doors no matter what their injuries or illnesses may be. If we do not receive some major financial assistance soon, we are not going to be able to continue to save as many as we do.

Ivy is currently living in a small cage at the vet's office because we have no foster homes available for her. In addition to your financial support, Ivy also needs a loving, indoor foster home. If you live in the memphis area and can provide one, please contact us at marionangels@yahoo.com

It feels like are always begging - and we know that economic times are rough, but we believe in giving every dog a chance at life...please support us in our mission. Thank you so much for caring about our dogs.

Update 12/23/08

Thanks to Doggie Angel, Nancy, we now only have to raise $2000 instead of $2300 for Ivy's vet bill! Nancy kindly made a private donation of $300 directly to the shelter.
