FL- Abandoned pittie needs a home
*ForeclosurePetRescue* WPB,FL
-Abandoned pittie needs rescuer/adopter!!!
Dear Kate,
My name is Christy.
I received your address from Penny Barrett hoping you might help find a home for a young, abandoned, Pit Bull.
We believe he belonged to an evicted resident. He roamed our gated community for 2 days, terrorizing the neighbors until I got a hold of him.
He is in my balcony right now. Just missed the Animal Control van...
GREAT potential. Super friendly and has no growls in him at all.
My 16 pounds Shiba Inu is bullying him.
He woke me up 3 times last night when he had to go to. Perfectly house trained. He was starved and ate like crazy all evening.
Thank you
Christy

Black lab needs a home Louisiana
We still have a male black lab who adopted us after Hurricane Gustav. We are looking for a good home for him. He looks to be about 1 year old. He is very sweet and needs a loving home. He is not so "hyper" that you can't be around him (like many young labs are).
He is good with kids...does not jump on you, knock you down or bite. I'm pretty sure he would be house trained. We don't keep him inside, but he does not use the bathroom unless he's out in the grass. He's really smart and it appears he would be very easy to train...to do anything you ask of him. He is also not a "big" lab...just the perfect size!
We don't want to have to bring him to the Animal Shelter...he is really TOO nic of a dog. But he is starting to wear out his welcome! We are not lab people! We have German Shepherds. He needs a permanent home.
Please, if you want him, let me know. If you know someone who might want him, let me know. Please email me at leschette@aol.com
We are GIVING him away...

About Sam-URGENT!
This is an urgent plea for a foster home for Sam. He was dropped off at a very crowded high kill shelter (you know what that means) by his owner. She told the shelter she was tired of taking care of Sam by herself and not getting any help from her husband or son. So I guess in spite, she brought Sam to the shelter to be killed.Fortunatley fo rSam, the shelter called us
Please someone step up and help us get Sam out of the shelter. He is so miserable being kenneled that he is cutting his paws clawing at the bars of his kennel. This poor animal is paying the price for some heartless "human" being
The shelter said he was a great dog and showed no aggression. They estimate he is 5-6 years old.
Due to the holidays, we can't do anything until Friday, but we would love by then, to have a foster home lined up. Once the local boarding facilities are not booked, we can move him to a kennel, but we would prefer this guy go into a home.
To foster please contact Toby Burroughs at 504-488-7067 or toby_levering@msn.com. This is URGENT!. The shelter is full!!!!

Beautiful Female Rottie in Georgia needs help!!!
Teddie - #27488
(When calling about a dog, refer to the dog by its ledger number, not its name!!)
Age: 3 Years
Rottweiler
Female
Ledger number: 27488
Teddie is available only to rescue groups because she is very emaciated and depressed and has shown no interest in eating, even in the yummy canned food the officers have given her. Even though she weighs 70 pounds, you can feel all of her bones (even those in her skull) when you run your hands over her body, so she should be at least 80 pounds at a healthy weight. Even in her current condition, it is evident that she is a very beautiful Rottie. She has a sweet temperament and will lean into you when you pet her. Animal Control has decided to only make her available to rescue groups so that she is healthy and stable before she goes to her permanent home.
Rescues, we really need your help with this girl!
Update: Animal Control is worried about Teddie not eating the canned and dry food they have for her, especially since she is so emaciated. Today I stopped by to visit with her, and she gobbled up 3 cans of Merrick (a dog food brand) "Smothered Comfort" flavor of canned dog food.
If you or someone you know would like to donate some cans of this specific canned food (found at Pet Supplies Plus, Mary's Tack and Feed or online at http://www. merrickpetcare. com) Teddie and Animal Control would be very grateful! While I was there, after she ate her 3 cans of food, she was all about getting petted! When I stopped, she would ever so gently nudge her head under my hand for more- SO SWEET! Teddie also spent some time with a kind man and his wife, and she gave the kind man a kiss.
Teddie is a super sweet Rottie who needs our help- thanks in advance Athens! :)
*Rescue groups only! The athenspets. net fund will donate $50 to the rescue group who saves her! Just contact Allyson at athenspets@athenspets.net!*

Phila, PA: URGENT!!! 3 Yr Old Female Chocolate lab needs new home!
Family going through very bad time....need to find her a home!
Contact mvmarchese@verizon.net
Hi - I thought I would start with you guys to get some ideas. A friend of mine is going through a very bad time and has to give up her dog Bonnie, a chocolate lab who is three years old. Photos are below.
If you know of anyone who would like to have a dog like this let me know. Or if you know a rescue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Marian
Bonnie was 3 on May 10, 2008. She's spayed and current on all her shots.
She does tend to pull on her leash when we walk... we did the first puppy course at Pet Smart when she was about six months old. She follows me around like my shadow.

Ivy is incredibly lucky to be alive right now. Believe it or not, Ivy was run over by a car. She crawled up on a woman's doorstep and just wagged her tail. She had apparently suffered all night long before she was able to make it to the vet.
This sweetie has been through so much.
It turns out that Ivy broke BOTH rear legs (4 bones total). Ivy was transferred to another animal hospital where she underwent surgery to repair both legs. Everyone that meets her is absolutely amazed with how sweet she is, despite being in so much pain.
Ivy has now been through THREE surgeries to repair her legs at the cost of $2300.00. We need your help to pay her bill.
Ivy is just one of many special medical need pups that we have put back together. Our vet bills currently exceed $10,000.00 and as a city shelter, we just do not have the funds to keep on going like this.
Although we are a municipal shelter, we try to save every dog that comes through our doors no matter what their injuries or illnesses may be. If we do not receive some major financial assistance soon, we are not going to be able to continue to save as many as we do.
Ivy is currently living in a small cage at the vet's office because we have no foster homes available for her. In addition to your financial support, Ivy also needs a loving, indoor foster home. If you live in the memphis area and can provide one, please contact us at marionangels@yahoo.com
It feels like are always begging - and we know that economic times are rough, but we believe in giving every dog a chance at life...please support us in our mission. Thank you so much for caring about our dogs.
================================================
Update 12/23/08
Thanks to Doggie Angel, Nancy, we now only have to raise $2000 instead of $2300 for Ivy's vet bill! Nancy kindly made a private donation of $300 directly to the shelter.

Anabell(A238489) wonderful pitty at Pasadena Humane Society
Anabell (A238489), a 3 year-old spayed pit bull, has been at the Pasadena Humane Society since September 6, and her time is running short. She is the kind of dog that everyone here wonders why no one has adopted her yet. She is about 50 pounds of LOVE. Volunteers and staff alike have nothing but good things to say about her: Some notes from volunteers who walk her around the park say that she is "the best dog at the shelter to walk", "In the park she quietly laid down as I spoke with a woman who was walking two dogs.", "Excellent walk. She walked next to or right ahead of me. She is a very entertaining dog." She has been socialized with another dog and even met our resident cat Bosley, who she sniffed and then backed away from him. We re-evaluated her today, and our behavior staff noted that during the re-eval, "Anabell was great! She is friendly, I was able to leash, handle and touch her with no problems. She is food-motivated and knows sit on command."Anabell is simply in the shelter at the wrong time. We currently have over 30 pit bulls, and this sweet girl is lost in the shuffle. Please help her in any way you can, by cross-posting this message, forwarding it along, rescuing or adopting her. We have been given a deadline of November 16th to have any type of commitment. Thank you! If you are able to foster, rescue, or adopt this sweetheart, please contact the adoptions office at (626) 792-7151 x 137, Kevin at x 119, or Ute at x 117. Or email Kevin at mobile@phsspca.org, or Ute at ute@phsspca.org.

Male Pitbull Puppy! Culver City CA

Beautiful, chocolate colored, 7 month old male Pitbull puppy...to a good home and loving family.

I was asked to house-sit a friend's Pitbull puppy while they found another place to live that allows pets, BUT NOW THEY WANT TO JUST GET RID OF HIM!!! This just breaks my heart... to just throw him away like this because THEY were irresponsible idiots.
He is such a beautiful and loving dog. All he ever wants to do is play, love, and be loved. He's rambunctious and has lots of energy, making him a great life-long family pet and best friend, though he'd fit best in either an adult home, or ideally in a home with a child (or children) 10 years and older with a yard for him to play in.
He's house-broken, has had all his shots, is in PERFECT health, no barking issues, and is neither animal, people, or food aggressive in any way, shape, or form -- in fact, he's a GREAT BIG GOOF-BALL and has been babied to this point in his life!!! I'd keep him myself, but I already have an older Pitbull of my own that requires my attention/care.

Please help me to find him a good, safe, loving home... please don't make this loving animal pay for the mistake of an irresponsible owner. I'm deathly afraid for him because his original owners mentioned just dropping him off at a pound somewhere, where we all know this wonderful doggie will be put to death.
I've spent only a month with him and have grown to love him myself -- so will you. Just please, please, please help me to avoid letting his prior owners just dump him off somewhere to face certain death. He deserves better than this... he deserves a safe, loving, home where he can be someone's life-long best friend. He deserves the home he SHOULD have had to begin with.
Even if you can't adopt this dog, PLEASE email this listing to as many people as you know in the Los Angeles area in order to help find him a good home. Please don't let him die because his owners are ready to just throw him away!!!

*Please Note: I am a Pitbull owner myself and know there are those who would seek to abuse these animals. As such, anyone responding to this listing should know I will not simply hand this dog over to just anyone. The dog's safety is paramount to me, so if you're not prepared to prove this beautiful dog will be going to a safe, loving home -- don't bother contacting me

URGENT Pit Bull X Louisiana
This beautiful dog's name is Southpaw.

She is the perfect house guest! She is housetrained, she even rings a Christmas bell when she needs to go outside, and she hits her water bowl with her paw when she needs/wants water. She doesn't chew or tear things inside and she likes napping in front of the TV. Southpaw also loves car or truck rides! How is she with people? She just loves children and adults.

So why is Southpaw for adoption?
Southpaw was the only child for many years, then her mom got married and a new baby arrived. Suddenly home became too crowded, and even though Southpaw's mom was very upset about this, her new dad put her on a runner outside.
What did she do to deserve this? Nothing! She was like she always had been, a VERY VERY loving, very well behaved dog! Southpaw is not happy outside, she wants to be inside and she broke her runner. Because she was loose, some neighbors complained and animal control got involved.

THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER SOLUTION for Southpaw!!!!!!
Southpaw will be 8 years old soon, she weighs about 64 lbs and she is spayed .
Southpaw is playful but knows when to be calm. She is not crazy about small dogs and she has never been around cats.
If you are looking for the perfect companion, please fill out the adoption application, and Southpaw may be your new best friend!

Chow Lab X URGENT Baton Rouge, LA
Meet Murray! Murray is our _MOST URGENT_ dog.
MURRAY IS NOT BLIND, SHE JUST NEEDS A HOME!
Murray is a 7 year old chow/lab mix. She has had some bad bad luck.
Her former owner chained her up to an apartment complex near LSU because he moved into an apartment that didn't allow dogs. At first, he fed her every day and took her for occasional walks. Eventually he was coming by less and less, and after 6 months he had stopped coming. One of the people who lived in the place where Murray was chained was feeding her. All she had was a plastic doghouse and a 10-foot chain. She spent almost a year living on that chain.

When we heard what was happening to Murray, we couldn't let her stay there any more. A foster home was found for Murray even though our rescue is full. Now Murray is about to be in the same predicament. The foster parents have also decided to move to a house that does not allow pets, and they want to find homes for Murray and their own two dogs. So Murray is out of luck again.
While Murray was chained, she was never given heartworm medicine. So now, on top of being homeless, Murray also needs heartworm treatment. She is otherwise healthy, she is spayed and has all of her shots.

Despite her ordeal, Murray is the sweetest thing. She is always happy and ready to play. She's very clever and full of energy. She needs a place to go immediately, a foster home, an adopter, or a rescue willing to take her in. If you can help Murray start her new life, please email us at GEBDR@yahoo.com.
